O.S.R. is the abbreviation for Open Scoring Rules, which means that the scoring is open for everyone to view during the contests to ensure fairness to all competitors. Open scoring is used for all Olympic sports, including Boxing and Taekwondo.

On A.K.A. Kickboxing events, this is done using score machines mounted next to the area of play ( boxing ring ) during bouts. The format is similar to Olympic Style Rules as seen in Olympic Amateur Boxing.

'Oriental Style Rules' ( O.S.R. ) or ' K-1 Rules' or 'Japanese Rules'
,

which allows Kicks, Punches and Knees and restricted clinch-hold defence, (allowing only a single holding-knee-kick when clinching).

This combined rules set makes for very fast and exciting contests, yet under proven safety conditions for the participating athletes.

All bouts will be I.K.F. Amateur Rules under O.S.R. scoring criteria. (athletes wearing protective equipment and open-scoring being used by the judges), and contested under the 'Oriental ' Style Kickboxing method.
