AKA England events are not 'Tournament Championships', (whereby athletes may compete in a Grandprix, several times against various opponents).

AKA England events are 'Challenge Match' bouts, (one vs one), therefore athletes are matched as closely as possible under specific criteria.

AKA England events start in the daytime with the Novice bouts that are then headlined with Novice Championships. On AKA England events, the title classification English Champion is reserved for this title.

AKA England events then progress onto Senior bouts that headline with Senior Championships.

The higher skilled athletes in the Senior Class may contest Senior Championship Titles. On AKA England events, there are several Senior Titles. These are presented in the following order :
British, Commonwealth, European, Inter-Continental and World.

Note : European, Inter-Continental and World Titles cannot be contested between athletes of the same nationality unless this is a title defence by a defending champion, as AKA England does not sanction prestige bouts.

At amateur level, 'experience / skill level', is equally as important as the singular criteria of 'record of bouts'.

Some athletes that compete at Amateur level have trained for many years and accordingly have very high skill levels. To ensure safe matchmaking this is given equal consideration when match making and must be submitted on the athletes entry form.

An amateur athlete that has been active during a season and maybe built a record of 10 bouts, may still not be an even, ( safe ) matchup for an athelte that has been training at a high level for several years.

It is a trainers responsibility to look after their students welfare and submit their atheltes entry details correctly and accordingly. If information is withheld, or purposely submitted incorrectly then an athlete and trainer may be suspending from competing on the AKA England circuit.

An athlete should not compete at a level that they cannot handle, or have not been prepared for.

It is recommended to start an athlete that is new to competition at the safest level, Novice Class ( 3x1.5 mins ), unless the trainer has confidence that his student is suitable for a more difficult level.

AKA England recomend...

If you have a Novice, then submit them for a Novice bout ( 3x1.5mins - total ring time 4.5 mins).
.
If you have a highly skilled Novice, you may flag them for a potential Novice Championship should the opportunity arise ( 4x1.5 mins - total ring time 6 mins).

If you have a Senior, then submit them for a Senior bout ( 3x2 mins - total ring time 6 minutes ).

If you have a highly skilled Senior, you may flag them for a potential Senior Championship should the opportunity arise ( 4x2 mins - total ring time 8 minutes ).

Further to this, to assertain the level of the Senior title, due process is added to the equation, ( total record of Novice and Senior bouts , level of opponents competed against, titles held or currently holding).

Generally within both the sports of Boxing and Kickboxing the following is adhered to, progressively getting harder as the athletes calibre improves.

Novice Amateur : 'N' Class - 'No' Decision Contests

Novice Amateur : 'C' Class - Controlled Contact.

Novice Amateur : 'C' Class - Champion.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Senior Amateur : 'B' Class - 3 Round Challenge bouts.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Senior Amateur : British Champion.
Senior Amateur : British Tournament Champion

Senior Amateur : Commonwealth Champion.

Senior Amateur : European Champion.
Senior Amateur : European Tournament Champion.

Senior Amateur : Inter-Continental Champion.

Senior Amateur : World Champion.
Senior Amateur : World Tournament Champion

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Novice Professional :

---------------------------------

Note : A 'Tournament Champion', holds equal prestige to that of a 'Challenge Match' Champion, although the rounds are less, ( 3 rounds as opposed to 4 rounds ), as a Tournament Champion may have more than one contest to win a Tournament Title.
